Friends, supporters, staff and industry players all converged on MONA today to celebrate the official opening of Hydrowood. At a lunchtime event in MONA’s Eros room, Managing Director, Andrew Morgan, welcomed everyone before giving some insight into the origins of the Hydrowood idea. Current Executive Director of Marketing at Tourism Tasmania, Guy Taylor, then gave a short talk on the challenges of innovation and how some of the world’s biggest brands started with a crazy idea. Federal Member for Braddon, Brett Whiteley then officially opened the Hydrowood project presenting a haunting overview of the Lake Pieman operation shown below.
Director David Wise thanked all supporters, stakeholders and friends before welcoming everyone to stay and enjoy a drink, some food and a chat with the Hydrowood team. Andrew, David and the whole SFM/Hydrowood team would like to thank everyone who attended the event and made it a great success.
